Jackasses in my hometown

It is a tradition in Baltimore (along with poverty and high rates of STDs) for the crowd to loudly join and draw out the "O" of "O say does that star spangled..." during the singing of the National Anthem in honor of the Orioles. Fine. It's their team.

But I live in the District of Columbia. We have our own team, the woeful-but-lovable Washington Nationals. And yet my fellow Washingtonians also do that stupid "O" thing. They don't sing "Hail to the Redskins" at Ravens games do they? Anybody who does not append "hon" to every statement and does that is a jackass of the highest order. And if you are from Baltimore, you are a jackass either way.

The only good things ever to come out of Baltimore are The Wire, Babe Ruth and Edgar Allen Poe. And I'm a little ambivalent about Poe.
